Uplifted Legacy
Words & performance by Secora Chambers
At She Is Rising, Secora Chambers shared a moving tribute to the girls who rise and the community that lifts them. Her words reminded us that mentorship, support, and possibility leave a legacy that reaches far beyond one evening.
“We celebrate Her. And we celebrate You.”

Uplifted Legacy
By Secora Chambers
We celebrate not only achievements,
but of those who placed the foundation behind.
Her vision is wider as you opened the possibilities for her to see.
Her confidence is radiating as you reminded her to just be.
To be in her boldness, to be in her excellency.
Sometimes all you need is to be shown beyond what you could have imagined.
Farther than what your eyes can see.
To have unknown potential,
Not yet refined
Polished by your community
Will reflect the smallest of beams.
Expand the most humblest of dreams.
The scope of impact is nothing short a ripple of light.
Radiating, permeating, light
That shines into every facet of our community.
Rays reaching every crack and crevice,
where the smallest of seeds scattered will sprout and bloom.
Seeds of potential, seeds of promise.
A future watered by your support, and nurtured by your hand.
She has not only risen, but has been elevated.
Her voice has been lifted, her legacy commanded
An opportunity lasts a moment
Mentorship lasts a lifetime
And creates the generations that blooms
Successors
The inheritors of leadership
Standing confidently on a sturdy foundation - that you help build.
Her legacy is distinct and expanded
Her confidence is robust and profound.
We celebrate Her. And we celebrate You.
